How we structure our curriculum

Program overview

Our curriculum is based on a progressive learning approach.  This is like a stepping stone method where swimmers must master each skill before moving on to the next skill.  This method also ensures a new or nervous swimmer is made to do skills they are not ready for, or more advances swimmers aren't held back by others in their class who might not be at the same level.  This allows all swimmers to develop at their own pace in each level & leads to greater skill development & stronger swimmers.

Starting from 4 months, our baby program is grouped by age, allowing swimmers to move through the stages developing water skills that will match their development on land.  From 3 years, swimmers who are ready for independent learning can move into teacher only classes.  Progression in these levels is skill based which is regularly assessed so that children dont get bored or left in a level too long.

All swimmers, regardless of whether they are in our parent & baby or teacher only classes will receive a certificate when they move up a level and get to ring our 'champions bell'.

Not sure what level your child will be if they are swimming at Paradise?

Is your child currently swimming at Paradise swim school?  We will try to match them into our levels based on their current skills however some swimmers will be better suited to a different class.  To help us get it right, we will informally assess the kids in the first few lessons so you can be certain your child will be in the level that suits their skill.

For some kids, this may result in an adjustment to their class day/time as we aim to get every swimmer in the most suitable level.
